For cylindrical or plain gages…
1. The actual size of the gage required, or the minimum and maximum limits of the product being measured.
2. The type of gage needed. For this we are looking for: Ring; Plug; Master Disc; etc.
3. The gagemakers tolerance required. For this we are looking for: XXX; XX; X; Y; Z; ZZ. If you need help here use our Gage Maker’s Tolerance Calculator.
4. The material you need the gage made from. For this we are looking for: Steel; Chrome; Carbide; Ceramic. Tool steel is default and the most common.
5. The type of gage required. For this we are looking for: GO; NOGO; Master; Double End; Style 3; etc. The GO; NOGO or Master information defines the direction applied to the tolerance.
