Pg Steel Conduit Threads per DIN 40430 STEEL CONDUIT THREAD; DIMENSIONS
Pg Steel Conduit Threads are manufactured in accordance with DIN
40430 STEEL CONDUIT THREAD; DIMENSIONS. The Pg thread series is
designed specifically for steel conduit because of the thin wall
cross section of the steel conduit. The thin wall thickness requires
a shorter profile thread that will not break through the outside
diameter of the steel conduit during the machining process. The
80° included angle of the Pg thread form gives a shorter profile
than the more common 60° included angle found in the Unified
National thread series and the Metric thread series. There is some
discussion about replacing the Pg Steel Conduit Thread per DIN 40430
with a 60° version as specified in BS EN 50262 CABLE GLANDS
FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS and/or DIN EN 50262 METRIC CABLE GLANDS
FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS.

Pg Steel Conduit Thread Plug Gages per DIN 40431 P2 STEEL CONDUIT
THREAD; THREAD GAUGES, "GO" AND "NOT GO" THREAD
PLUG GAUGES
The standard: DIN 40431 P2 STEEL CONDUIT THREAD; THREAD GAUGES,
"GO" AND "NOT GO" THREAD PLUG GAUGES specifies
the requirements for the thread plug gages. A unique aspect of the
Pg Steel Conduit Thread Plug Gage is that the NOGO member is a plain
cylindrical gage. This actually works because as the thread is machined
the crest of the thread form comes to a point. As the thread size
is changed, the position of the point changes and thus can be measured.
The GO member works in the normal manner by checking the maximum
material condition.
Pg Steel Conduit Thread Ring Gages per DIN 40431 P1 STEEL CONDUIT
THREAD; THREAD GAUGES, "GO" AND "NOT GO" THREAD
RING GAUGES
The standard: DIN 40431 P1 STEEL CONDUIT THREAD; THREAD GAUGES,
"GO" AND "NOT GO" THREAD RING GAUGES specifies
the requirements for the thread ring gages. A unique aspect of the
Pg Steel Conduit Thread Ring Gage is that the NOGO ring is a plain
cylindrical gage. This actually works because as the thread is machined
the crest of the thread form comes to a point. As the thread size
is changed the position of the point changes and thus can be measured.
The GO ring works in the normal manner by checking the maximum material
condition.
