BSP is a catch-all for British Standard Pipe. It is usually used
as a shortened version of British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP). British Standard Pipe Parallel is now designated as G-series of screw threads and defined in ISO-228.
British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP)
has also been defined in the now obsolete BS-2779.
Caution is advised when reading a thread designation labeled BSP
because this could be a shortened version of British Standard Pipe
Parallel (BSPP)
or British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT).
I have seen it both ways.
