Pitch Diameter

Pitch Diameter Per ASME B1.7-2006 Definitions [ back to main page ]

Pitch Diameter:
On a straight thread, the pitch diameter is the diameter at any point on the pitch cylinder over a length of engagement of not more than one pitch.
On a taper thread, the pitch diameter at a given position on the thread axis is the diameter of the pitch cone at that position.
