Runout, circular runout: based upon ASME Y14.5M the circular runout, as applied to screw threads, is the variation (FIM) on the major cylinder of an external thread, or the minor cylinder of an internal thread, when rotating the thread 360 deg on the axis of the functional diameter envelope.
