Seal Peal your gages to protect them from Rust and Damage.

Strippable Seal Peal Coating is a convenient way to protect your screw thread gages. This is the method that most screw thread gage makers use to protect new screw thread gages while in storage and in transit to distributors or end customers. Strippable seal peal coating is also used by most calibration laboratories to provide the same protection for screw thread gages which they have calibrated. We at Gage Crib Worldwide Inc use strippable seal peal coating for our surplus screw thread gages.

Strippable Seal Peal Coating is a low temperature, oil impregnated, thermo-polymer. The low temperature allows strippable seal peal coating to be melted in your shop at a reasonable safe temperature in a Melting Tank. The Hot Pot melts the strippable seal peal coating and once melted the screw thread gage which is desired to be coated is dipped into the melted strippable seal peal coating and removed. After a minute of cooling the strippable seal peal coated screw thread gage is ready for storage.

The oil impregnation is designed to keep oil in contact with the raw steel of the screw thread gage while the screw thread gage is in storage. Being integral to the thermo-polymer the oil does not drip off or evaporate thus effecting a longer lasting film of protection for the screw thread gage against rust.

The thermo-polymer strippable seal peal coating is thick enough to protect the screw thread gage against most incidental bumps. Whack it real hard against a sharp corner and the screw thread gage can still be damaged, but in normal storage, rubbing against other gages in a drawer, there is no worry for dings or wear of the screw thread gage.

Strippable seal peal coating is an effective tamper indicator. The gage can be considered unused as long as the strippable seal peal coating is intact. It will be obvious if the strippable seal peal coating has been removed and reinstalled.

Strippable seal peal coating is easily peeled off when the gage is ready to be put into service. The gage will have been preserved in its calibrated condition, oiled and ready for use.

Strippable seal peal coating is also useful for other tools like end mills and drills. Applied to cutting tools, strippable seal peal coating protects the cutting edge while the cutting tool is in storage against rust, dulling caused by abrasions against other tools, and accidental damage.
